We often want instant blessings and overnight spiritual growth, but Jesus calls us to <em>abide<\/em>\u2014to remain connected to Him like branches to a vine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This sermon is part of the \u201cI Am\u201d summer series, where we dive into the identity of Jesus as He reveals Himself in Scripture. In today\u2019s message, we focus on Jesus&#8217; third \u201cI Am\u201d statement: <strong>\u201cI am the vine.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Main Points:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. <strong>Jesus is the Vine \u2014 The True Source<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Our spiritual nourishment, identity, and growth all flow from Jesus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Being a descendant of Abraham or having religious heritage isn\u2019t enough. <em>Only connection to Jesus produces spiritual fruit.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All vines don\u2019t lead to heaven\u2014only Jesus does.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. <strong>Pruning is Part of Growth<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>He prunes the fruitful branches so they can bear even more fruit. (John 15:2)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pruning is painful, but it&#8217;s purposeful. God removes what\u2019s unnecessary or unhealthy\u2014not to punish, but to promote.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fruitfulness doesn\u2019t eliminate pruning; it invites it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. <strong>Provision Comes Through the Vine<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>You can\u2019t bear fruit by yourself\u2014it only comes by <em>remaining<\/em> in the vine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Like a power strip plugged into nothing, our lives lack energy and effectiveness when we\u2019re disconnected from God.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The more we abide in Jesus, the more fruit naturally flows out of our lives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. <strong>The Plea of the Vine \u2014 Stay Connected<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Jesus gives a warning: disconnected branches wither and are thrown away.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The good news? We don\u2019t have to stay in the dirt. God lifts us, cleanses us, and gives us new purpose.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t try to \u201cplug in\u201d to yourself\u2014real power only comes from Jesus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Powerful Analogies:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Microwave vs. Slow Cooker:<\/strong> God develops us through time and process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Vineyard Visual:<\/strong> True fruit only grows when branches are connected to the vine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Newton\u2019s Cradle:<\/strong> What you invest in spiritually determines what flows out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Power Strip:<\/strong> We\u2019re powerless unless we\u2019re plugged into the right source\u2014Jesus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application Challenge:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Abide daily<\/strong> \u2013 Don\u2019t settle for a Sunday-only connection. Make time for prayer, worship, and the Word each day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Embrace pruning<\/strong> \u2013 Let God cut back distractions, attitudes, or relationships that hinder your growth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Check your fruit<\/strong> \u2013 What is your life producing? Your fruit shows who you\u2019re connected to.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Simplify and reconnect<\/strong> \u2013 Unplug from busyness and burnout.
